All organic from the orchards at Hearts Crossing a CSA in Hemet Ca. Picked by the owners our best friends the Hartvigson’s who came for our May Day Celebration today.

A day in May in June. May day should be on May 1 but it is too cold in Cedar to do that so we have it later in the month. However that did not work this year. Today the farm is open and it is a nice warm day. We have new baby chicks and ducks born naturally and in the incubators. Baby goats, rabbits and very large pig.

The veggies in the green houses and the fields are looking good. As a treat we bought some tomatoes grown in green houses in New Castle that are heated by ground water that comes out at 226 degrees. http://www.harmonsgrocery.com/people/local-partners/castlevalley/ I think they are tasteless but still a tomato in Cedar in June. It will be August before we get heirlooms here.

We have Carol a share holder and darling grandma reading stories, pictures to color, a wagon to pull around, mini may poles to make,a bubble pond, puppets and the May pole. Violins played by Savannah and Mary.

Be sure to enter the drawings for Great Harvest bread, honey, milk, cheese, eggs and produce .

We made honey lemonade, and May Day cupcakes. There will be Jack Rabbit Cheese and crackers. Can’t wait to see the salads you bring to share.

Lets celebrate the season!
